The community is in mourning after 14-year-old Knox MacEwen died unexpectedly during a 5K race at Everglades High School in Florida. Despite immediate emergency response, MacEwen suffered cardiac arrest and could not be revived. This tragic event has deeply affected his family, school, and community.

MacEwen, a student at Western High School in Davie, was active in the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC). Western High Principal Jimmy Arrojo expressed heartfelt condolences to MacEwen’s family, friends, and classmates. Grief counselors have been made available to support those affected by his death.
