Allen Ray McGrew, 41, tragically died during a Fourth of July party in Summerville, South California. While dressed in a stars and stripes outfit, Allen placed a lit firework on his head, which exploded and caused fatal head injuries. His wife, Paige McGrew, initially thought he was just playing around but realized too late that the firework was lit. Despite efforts to warn him, the explosion was unavoidable. The Dorchester County Sheriff’s department pronounced him dead at the scene on Cottonwood Drive.
The celebration was meant to honor their son Hunter’s engagement. Though Allen was not a frequent drinker, he participated in the festivities. This tragic event underscores the importance of handling fireworks with extreme caution.
