Katelyn Ray tragically died after her car collided with a school bus on Highway 15 near Highway 6 in Panola County, Mississippi. The incident occurred at 7:15 a.m. while she was en route to pick up her sister from work. Her mother, Shelia Ray, recounted their last conversation filled with love.
Concern grew when Katelyn failed to arrive by 7:30 a.m., prompting her sister, Courtney Pettit, to seek help on Facebook. Their fears were confirmed when the Mississippi Highway Patrol notified them of the accident. Katelyn, who had recently obtained her driver’s license, was a GED student at the WIN Job Center.
