Oldest Man in the World Dies at 114

Juan Vicente Perez, the world’s oldest man, passed away at 114. Born in Venezuela on May 27, 1909, he was confirmed as the oldest living person in May 2022. Despite limited schooling, he learned to read and write, later becoming a sheriff before returning to agriculture. Guinness World Records noted his age at 112 years and 253 days in February 2022.

Juan cherished family and faith, often praying twice daily. His daughter Nelida remarked on his excellent health, attributing it to hard work, early nights, and a daily drink of aguardiente. He married Ediofina del Rosario Garcia, and together they had eleven children and a large extended family.

Juan’s devotion to family and God was evident throughout his life. He treasured gatherings with loved ones, enjoying music and storytelling. His 100th and 110th birthdays were milestones celebrated with joy. Reflecting on his life, Juan’s simple yet profound philosophy emphasized gratitude, diligence, and faith.
