Doug Kyed, an NFL reporter, has shared the heart-wrenching news of his two-year-old daughter Hallie’s death after a brave nine-month battle with leukemia. Hallie was diagnosed with the disease in April 2023, and despite undergoing a bone marrow transplant and showing remarkable strength, she relapsed and passed away in January 2024.
On the day of her death, Hallie peacefully slipped away in her sleep while her parents, Doug and Jen, held her hands. Doug expressed the deep impact of their loss, stating, “Our lives will never be the same.” Despite their efforts to remain positive, including countless nights at Boston Children’s Hospital, the prognosis for Hallie remained poor.
Hallie’s struggle with acute myeloid leukemia, a severe cancer affecting the bone marrow and rapidly spreading to other organs, was met with immense courage. Jen Kyed described the loss as having “a hole in her heart.” The NFL community extends its condolences to the grieving family during this devastating time.
