Designer Will Breaux fulfilled his dream by constructing a stunning 2,500 square foot home in Houston using 11 shipping containers. Located on McGowen Street, this three-story residence includes a rooftop deck.
Breaux’s journey began with a vision dating back to the early 2000s, inspired by projects he admired. Frustrated by initial design setbacks, he took matters into his own hands, explaining on his blog, “I began looking at projects that were being built that I liked.” Despite lacking professional experience, Breaux chose shipping containers for their strength, fireproof qualities, and resilience against hurricanes.
He meticulously educated himself on container construction and created a detailed 3D sketch of his dream home. After years of effort, Breaux now proudly owns an exceptional, fully furnished container home.
