Brooke Shields has disclosed a past sexual assault by a Hollywood executive over 30 years ago. Speaking to People, Shields recounted the incident that occurred after she graduated from Princeton University, admitting she initially blamed herself but now feels more anger about it. She revealed, “If you’re afraid, you’re rightfully so. They are scary situations. They don’t have to be violent to be scary.”

Shields, known for her early modeling and acting career, including roles in controversial projects like “Pretty Baby,” is sharing her story in an upcoming documentary. Reflecting on her experiences, she stated, “It’s a miracle that I survived.”

The assault took place after a dinner meeting with the executive, where Shields expected professional opportunities but was instead coerced to his hotel room. She recalled feeling guilt and self-blame afterward, confiding in only one person at the time. Now, she aims to support others by speaking out: “Everybody processes their own trauma on a different timeline. I want to be an advocate for women to be able to speak their truth.”

Shields hopes her story will encourage others to come forward and be believed, breaking the silence surrounding such experiences.
