Actor Adam Driver’s journey to fame took an unconventional route through military service. Following high school, Driver, lacking direction, enlisted in the Marines after the 9/11 attacks, driven by a desire to contribute.
“In the wake of September 11, 2001, I was riddled with the question, ‘What did I do?'” Driver reflected.
Despite a biking accident preventing deployment, his military experience instilled discipline crucial for his acting career. His breakout role in HBO’s “Girls” paved the way for blockbuster success in “The Force Awakens.”
“I credit the Marine Corps for instilling me with a sense of self-worth and discipline,” Driver stated.
Post-military, he founded Arts in the Armed Forces, providing free theater experiences for service members, bridging his military past with artistic endeavors.
“Arts in the Armed Forces is about sharing stories, bringing people together, and bridging the divide between military and civilian communities,” Driver explained.
