Out-of-Towner’s Car Rescue

An out-of-towner found himself in a ditch in a remote area. Fortunately, a local farmer arrived with his strong horse, Buddy. The farmer first commanded, “Pull, Nellie, pull!” and then “Pull, Buster, pull!” But Buddy didn’t move. The farmer then called out, “Pull, Coco, pull!” with no success.

Finally, the farmer said, “Pull, Buddy, pull!” and Buddy effortlessly pulled the car out of the ditch. The relieved motorist asked why the farmer used different names for the horse.

The farmer explained, “Oh, Buddy is blind, and if he thought he was the only one pulling, he wouldn’t even try!”
