Former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl champion Jacoby Jones passed away unexpectedly at 40 on July 14, 2024, in New Orleans. His family confirmed his death, asking for privacy and prayers during this difficult time.

Jones had recently been inducted into the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. The football community reacted with an outpouring of tributes. J.J. Watt shared a photo, noting Jones’ “joyful spirit and constant laughter,” and Torrey Smith called him his “brother,” vowing to support his family.

The Baltimore Ravens praised Jones for his ability to connect with people, with head coach John Harbaugh recalling Jones’ enthusiasm and a memorable kickoff return in a snowstorm. Harbaugh concluded, “Rest in peace in Jesus’ arms.”
