A farmer in Australia was in for a surprise when he discovered an unusually large egg among his hens’ daily delivery. Scott Stockman, who runs Stockman’s Eggs, found a giant egg weighing 6.2 ounces, three times the size of a normal one. Upon cracking it open, they discovered another perfectly formed egg inside.
“It’s just incredible actually—to have two perfectly formed eggs together,” said Scott.
Associate Professor Raf Freire from Charles Sturt University explained the phenomenon, suggesting that the hen initially produced an egg but didn’t lay it. Instead, the next day, it laid both the previous egg and a new one.
While experts deemed the egg safe to eat, Stockman decided against it, given their daily output of 50,000 eggs.
This rare occurrence amazed everyone involved, prompting sharing the story with friends on social media.
