BYU’s Vocal Point, a college a cappella group, has redefined Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” with their rendition. Established in 1991 by BYU students Dave Boyce and Bob Ahlander, Vocal Point soared in popularity, even landing fifth place on NBC’s The Sing-Off. Member Jason Bromley shared, “We’re ordinary college students doing extraordinary things.”
Their rendition, filmed amidst breathtaking mountains and valleys, begins softly, building layers of harmony. Their voices, accompanied by vocal percussion, create a mesmerizing atmosphere. With a fresh twist towards the end and an impactful finale featuring a choir of fellow students, this rendition stands out. Bromley adds, “We bring something new to the table.”
